Dealing with Nonsense Arguments
No 1: It’s Impossible

It’s impossible! Give up!

This started out as a simple conversation about wearing face masks on buses which has become law in the UK now

I joked the only reason I wear one is I dont want the CCTV on buses to ID me (now at this point we are not aware of facial recog being possible on buses or their CCTV systems being upgraded to HD, or 5G wireless with realtime transmission)

(I will shortly find out what is the public transport privacy and data retention policy)

I got the laughs, and then was told you can never stop them from identifying you – they have cameras everywhere, to which I replied… ‘When I don’t want to be identified I wont be…’

Then I got the full scale attack

1. It’s not possible – there are too many cameras everywhere

2. You’re crazy (I really love your freedom attitude but now you sound like a mad man)

This is a classic case of brainwashing at work. Here’s how it goes:

1. Despite not understanding how face recog works, or even knowing anything about it, or where the cameras are, they will tell you with authority it cant be done

If you challenge them the only argument they have is – OK tell me how you do it – and then proceed to try and ridicule everything you say

2. If that’s not working then the last ditch attempt is to tell you that you’re crazy!

I replied:

‘So lets get this straight… You’re telling me that because you dont understand how it can be done it’s simply not possible?

You are not even willing to consider possibilities?

You believe it’s OK to give up your choice in this matter?

And to defend your position you will try to ridicule and accuse me of insanity?’

Sounds like a witch hunt from the past eh? Who sounds crazy now?

Challenging Brainwashed Beliefs

When you challenge someones beliefs that are so subconsciously embedded they find it hard to deal with you

I am confronting them with a simple truth:
You have a choice – there is always a choice, its innate in freedom

Any good politician, lawyer, judge, teacher, parent etc knows that if you can be persuaded that there is no choice then you will give up your choice/freedom

But it cannot ever be taken from you – you must give it

The Hero Never Gives Up

In war the message is: You’re surrounded, give up!

The movie hero never gives up – when its do or die they know the only choice they have is freedom, and the audience rallies behind them

No one ever walked out of the cinema because the hero decided to keep fighting when the odds were against them

How many of you would walk out of the cinema if the hero gave up and said
‘There are too many of you, ok cuff me, I give up!’

And yet so many of us in real life do exactly that! Now I laugh at them and tell them they are crazy. Here’s why…

I see them just at that point in the movie where they could actually do something, make a difference, swing that pendulum, take back their power…

and they say to me ‘Turn back! Run away! Its impossible! You’ll never make it! Who are you to think!’

Sounds like C3PO in star wars – always the voice of doom in the back ground
But did they listen to him? Hell no! And neither should you!

Don’t fall for it. It’s nonsense argument No.1
